San Diego, CA (May 5, 2014) – Dave Roth, Chief Operations Officer, at Chef Works Inc. has been nominated for San Diego’s Top Tech Awards 2014. These awards recognize the most outstanding information technology executives in San Diego. Winners, from multiple categories, are announced on May 15, 2014 at 4 pm at the Del Mar Fairgrounds at the Paddock. Chef Works has their fingers-crossed that our very own, Dave Roth, makes the final cut and is awarded a prestigious and well deserved Top Tech Awards for 2014.

Below is the submission:

Dave Roth, COO for Chef Works Inc., should be nominated for the Top Tech Executive Award for 2013 in San Diego because of his innovative spirit, out-of-the-box thinking, and his insatiable drive to use technology to achieve continual process improvements. Dave Roth and his team, Paul Ferlatte, Mike Page, Jan Beuttner, and Mario Manzo foster a proactive environment that consistently achieves implementing various Business Process Reengineering (BPR) strategies. This empowers and enables Chef Works to achieve ground breaking operational leaps forward giving Chef Works an un-touchable competitive edge. The implementation of various IT improvement projects over the past 5 years has allowed Chef Works Inc., to double its revenue during a stagnant, and often times detrimental, economic environment plus much more.

How did he do it? Our COO embodied one of Chef Works foundational business principles and values; staying customer centric. By staying true to this principle, Dave Roth implemented new technology, procedures, and processes that resulted in various process gains. Chef Works increased its process flow automation. Chef Works also successfully integrated disparate technology systems through proprietary programming that provided a scalable fulfillment structure. His team identified technology gaps that when rectified aided in Chef Works gaining complete visibility from its supply chain all the way through to our end-users.

Dave Roth and his team championed defining and developing a number of mission critical KPI’s that keep Chef Works nimble, pro-active, and scalable. These KPI’s have enabled Chef Works to reduce costs in its fulfillment process by 10 – 15% while maintaining operational costs in other areas of the business. Further results include a substantial 80% annual increase in the volume of garments being fulfilled. These KPI’s have also enabled Chef Works to hold operational expenses almost flat across the entire organization – an incredible feat for a growing company in a struggling economy. Our scalability model developed and implemented over the last 4-5 years has enabled Chef Works to attain exponential growth while retaining its current cost structure.

The uniform business is not a glamorous, awe-inspiring, easily innovative industry. The competition is steep and technology is one of the many areas in which Chef Works Inc., exceeds, thanks to Dave Roth and his team. Chef Works invites its current customers (that include some of the world’s leading Food Service, Hotel and Restaurant organizations), future prospects, and those just curious to see first-hand how our Top Tech Executive has facilitated this integration and achieved such results. We would love the opportunity to personally demonstrate how this model has, and continues to help; our customers resolve their issues in administering a complex uniform program and transform it into a manageable success.
